Follow these guidelines to get the most out of your treatment...
Teeth whitening
Avoid eating and drinking anything aside from water for the first hour after your whitening session.
For 24-48 hours after your session we recommend avoiding anything that can cause excess staining (basically anything that can stain a white shirt can also stain your teeth)!
You may experience some mild sensitivity or tingling for the first few hours after your session, but this will gradually decrease with time.
You will continue to see whitening for roughly 24-48 hours after your session, with full results by 48 hours.
Consider brushing with a toothpaste that contains nano-hydroxyapatite (now commonly found in many healthfood stores) to support your enamel and the remineralization of your teeth. Nano-hydroxyapatite can also help to reduce longterm sensitivity, is highly bioavailable, and acts as a natural alternative to fluoride.
** please consider consulting with your dentist prior to introducing any new products or practices into your regime.
If you experience sensitivity…
On some rare occasions, some of our clients experience sensitivity after their treatment. While we do our best to mitigate any potential sensitivity, this can be a natural reaction to any teeth whitening procedure and may present as discomfort to hot and/or cold foods and liquids and/or a slight achy feeling in your teeth and gums.
Sensitivity should subside within 24 - 48 hours, and you can help to reduce the effects by:
Drinking plenty of water
Rinsing your mouth with salt water (this helps to rehydrate the teeth)
Avoiding hot or cold beverages
Rubbing MCT oil on your teeth (helps sooth and with rehydration)
Should your symptoms worsen or persist beyond 48-60 hours, or become unmanageable at any point, please consult with your healthcare provider and seek medical attention.
Tooth gems
Avoid eating and drinking anything aside from water for the first hour after your session
For 24-48 hours after your session we recommend avoiding anything that is overly acidic as it can wear down the adhesive (coffee, alcohol, citrus)
Avoid brushing your tooth gem for the first 24 hours (you can brush the teeth around it), and avoid using an electric toothbrush for the first 48 hours
Avoid biting into hard foods for the first 48 hours as it can dislodge your gem
Visit a dental professional when you are ready to remove your tooth gem
If you accidentally swallow your gem, rest assured it is lead free and will pass naturally
Please contact us if your tooth gem falls off within 2 weeks of application and we will replace it for you free-of-charge.
